Of the 10 conferences in the FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision), we have now seen four conferences cancel their upcoming football seasons due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Memphis Tigers have made the AAC championship each of the last three seasons and finally broke through with a title in 2019 against Cincinnati. The favorite this season in the conference is the UCF Knights, who brought home the AAC title in 2017 and 2018 against Memphis, who is listed as the second-highest betting favorite in the league this season.

Atlantic Coast Conference Championship

The biggest favorite to capture a league title is the Clemson Tigers in the ACC at 1/6 odds (-600), as they have won the conference championship each of the past five seasons. In the last three seasons, Clemson won the ACC title game by 30 points or more, which has come on the heels of three consecutive league titles won by Florida State from 2012-14.

Big Ten Conference Championship

The Big Ten championship has been claimed by the Ohio State Buckeyes each of the last three seasons. The Buckeyes defeated Wisconsin last season, 34-21, marking the fourth loss in the last six seasons for the Badgers in the Big 10 title game since winning back-to-back in 2011 and 2012.

Big 12 Conference Championship

The Big 12 championship returned in 2017 following a six-year hiatus, but not much changed from a champion standpoint. The Oklahoma Sooners claimed four of the last five league titles from 2006-2010 and returned to the throne the last three seasons. The Sooners held off Baylor, 30-23 last season to mark a 10th Big 12 championship as OU is the odds-on favorite again this season at -250 odds.

Conference USA Championship

Conference USA has seen seven different winners of their championship game since 2011. The FAU Owls have won two of the last three league championship contests, including a 49-6 blowout of UAB last season. The Blazers have made the C-USA title game the last two seasons and are the favorite this season to win the championship, just ahead of FAU, Marshall, and Western Kentucky.

Mid-American Conference Championship

Five different teams have taken home the MAC title in the last five seasons, capped off by Miami, Ohio last season. The RedHawks staved off Central Michigan for their first MAC title since 2003. Ohio is the favorite this season, followed by Buffalo, as the Bobcats actually lost four home games in 2019.

Mountain West Conference Championship

Three teams have won multiple MWC titles since the inception of the league championship in 2013. Last year's winner, Boise State, made it to its third consecutive MWC title game and picked up a 31-10 victory over Hawaii. Boise State is listed as the favorite at -125 to win the MWC championship this season.

Pac-12 Conference Championship

Oregon picked up its third Pac-12 title by blasting Utah, marking the sixth time the Pac-12 title game has been decided by double-digits. The Ducks are the favorites once again to win the conference championship, while USC is right behind as the Trojans seek their first Pac-12 title since 2017.

Southeastern Conference Championship

The SEC has seen three different champions the last three seasons (Georgia in 2017, Alabama in 2018, LSU in 2019). LSU picked up its first SEC title since 2011 in last season's blowout of Georgia, as the Bulldogs played in their third straight conference championship. Alabama is back as the favorite to capture the SEC championship, as the Crimson Tide are 6-0 in the conference title game since 2009.

Sun Belt Conference Championship

The Sun Belt is the last conference to showcase a conference championship game. Appalachian State won the league title in 2018 and 2019 with both victories coming against UL-Lafayette. Appalachian State is the odds-on favorite to pick up a third straight Sun Belt title, while UL-Lafayette is right behind at 3/1 odds.

The College Football Playoff national championship game is Monday with No. 1 Alabama and No. 3 Ohio State kicking off at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida (8 p.m. ET, ESPN).

While the Buckeyes are playing for their second championship in the current playoff system — Ohio State won it all in 2014-15, the playoff’s inaugural season — the Crimson Tide are looking for their third title in six seasons after winning in 2015-16 and 2017-18.

As of Thursday afternoon, Alabama is a 7.5-point favorite, and the game’s under/over is 74.5, according to BetMGM.

Last week, we incorrectly predicted college football would get the fifth installment of the Alabama-Clemson playoff rivalry, but we’re carrying on with more predictions. This time, however, we’re making and explaining bold predictions for Alabama’s and Ohio State’s offenses and defenses, as well as the final score and champ.

College Football Playoff national championship game: Offense

Alabama bold prediction: DeVonta Smith breaks the CFP championship game receiving yards record. He’s carried the Buckeyes to victory before, and — especially if quarterback Justin Fields isn’t 100 percent — he might have to do it again.

College Football Playoff national championship game: Defense

Alabama bold prediction: Alabama slows down Justin Fields and Ohio State’s passing attack. Fields put up 385 yards and six touchdowns in the semifinal upset, but he also injured himself after taking a vicious hit to the ribcage. With Fields possibly not being at 100 percent, expect Alabama to pressure the QB early and often. We saw against Northwestern that pressure and turnovers could force the Buckeyes to become one-dimensional, relying on Trey Sermon and Master Teague III in the run game.

Ohio State bold prediction: Defense contains Najee Harris. Averaging 115.6 yards and two touchdowns per game, the Alabama running back seems unstoppable — especially when he makes hurdling defenders look so easy. But the Buckeyes’ rushing defense is No. 2 in the nation, allowing just 89.1 yards per game, and it’s given up eight rushing touchdowns in seven games. Harris is still a force and may get his two touchdowns, but for this extra bold prediction, he won’t break 100 yards.

College Football Playoff national championship game: Winner

Alabama bold prediction: Alabama wins, 35-27. Alabama will take control of the game early by attacking Ohio State’s vulnerable secondary with Smith, John Metchie and possibly a returning Jaylen Waddle, who’s a game-day decision, per ESPN. Justin Fields not being at 100 percent will cause the Buckeyes to struggle to get the ball downfield, forcing them to rely more on the run game. Expect a strong fight from the Buckeyes but not enough to overcome an early Crimson Tide lead.

Ohio State bold prediction: Ohio State wins, 42-34. These two high-powered offenses are among the top-6 in the nation and comfortably average more than 500 yards per game. With superstar quarterbacks Mac Jones and Justin Fields leading the way against the just-OK defenses, these teams could produce a high-scoring shootout that will hit the over.
